US Drug Watchdog Openly Mocks The US FDA For Doing Little To Nothing About The Metal On Metal Hip Implant Disaster & Offers To Help Victims Get To The Best Attorneys

The US Drug Watchdog is now openly mocking the US FDA for once again sitting on their hands, while up to half a million US citizens could now be stuck with a metal on metal hip implant device that might prematurely fail, or do even more damage because the metal debris could be giving these type of hip implant recipients blood poisoning. The United Kingdom is already on the verge of an out right ban of all metal on metal hip implants, and the US Drug Watchdog is convinced there are hundreds of thousands of US citizens, who are recipients of a metal-on-metal hip implant that has failed, or will fail prematurely. According to the New York Times on December 27th 2011, “The so-called metal-on-metal hips, in which a device’s ball and joint are made of metal, are failing at high rates within a few years instead of lasting 15 years or more, as artificial joints normally do. The wear of metal parts against each other is generating debris that is damaging tissue and, in some cases, crippling patients.” The US Drug Watchdog wants to hear from any metal-on metal hip implant recipient if their hip implant has already failed, if the hip implant recipient is suffering the symptoms of a metal-on metal hip implant failure, or if the metal on metal hip implant recipient is concerned about a premature failure, in order to get them to the best attorneys. Metal on metal hip implant recipients are encouraged to contact the US Drug Watchdog anytime at 866-714-6466, or they can contact the group via their web site at http://USDrugWatchdog.Com

The number of measles cases and outbreaks spiked last year, with unvaccinated people making up the majority of those affected, according to a new report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

In 2011, there were 222 cases of measles in the United States. That’s the highest number reported measles cases in the united states in 15 years, said Dr. Anne Schuchat, director of CDC’s Office of Infectious Diseases, speaking to reporters today.

The number is also more than triple the number of cases in 2009 and 2010, according to the report.

10 tips to beat the ticks

By Craig Stanley
NBC News

This year’s unusually warm winter brought extra sunshine, and along with it, the early arrival of tick season.  According to the Centers for Disease Control, 12 diseases are transmitted by some types of ticks — including Lyme disease.  Use these tips to reduce the risk of tick bites while maximizing your outdoor summer fun.

1) Avoid ticks as much as possible! They love to hide in wooded and bushy areas with tall grass and leaf litter. When you’re out in these types of areas, wear light-colored clothing with long pants tucked into socks. That makes it easier to detect ticks on your clothing and helps keep them away from your ankles.

2) To protect your skin from ticks, the Centers for Disease Control suggests using an EPA-approved repellent that contains 20 percent or more DEET for several hours of defense. To safeguard your clothes, experts recommend any EPA-approved repellent that has permethrin.

Australian doctors still administering banned flu vaccine to children

By Meryl Dorey, April 21 2012
(NaturalNews) Two years to the day after CSL’s Fluvax was banned for use in children under the age of 5, news has emerged that Australian doctors are continuing to administer this shot to infants and toddlers despite the fact that there are four other vaccines that are licensed for use in this age group. Originally, it was discovered that the rate of febrile convulsions following Fluvax was 10 times higher than the ‘expected’ rate and was causing seizures in 1 child in 100. As a result, the Chief…

Conventional milk supply in Australia deliberately tainted with unlabeled waste product known as ‘permeate’

By Ethan A. Huff, April 21 2012
(NaturalNews) Australians who purchase conventional milk products from their local grocery store or supermarket may be drinking a processed food product composed of more than 16 percent industrial waste every time they gulp down a glass. The Age reports that “permeate,” a waste byproduct of processed milk and cheese production, is being quietly added into many conventional milk brands in order to cut costs, and the public is largely unaware of this due to lax rules that do not require proper labeling…

Horse  Slaughter for Food ban lifted in the  U.S.

***This is  a letter written  by the editor  of  Food Safety  News to  his  readers ,  who   became upset   about  an  article  he wrote detailing  the intention of a  New Mexico  Horse  Slaughter  Operation to  seek  licensing under  the  new mandate.***

Letter From The Editor: Comments

by Dan Flynn | Apr 22, 2012
Opinion
I really did not plan on stirring up reader comments last week, but I did.
That’s not what I have in mind for these Sunday sermons and generating comments is never on my agenda when reporting and writing news.
Nonetheless, Food Safety News welcomes comments and from time to time, I’ve generated my share.
Last week when I wrote about supermarkets, it was just my reactions to something we all have to do. I am always happy if I make someone smile or even chuckle a bit, but I am not here to give my political pronunciations on all foodie subjects. So, for those of you who thought I was dancing around a little, true that.

horse-legs-350.jpg

The other subject that always brings comments that, frankly, often do not seem to be in sync with the story involved the application for a grant of inspection for horse slaughter for export by a New Mexico company that was previously in the beef slaughter business.
Just the paragraph above is enough to have me again accused of “promoting horse slaughter” by at least some of our readers.  This has been coming up repeatedly ever since I first reported on this subject. There was even a comment in our reader survey labeling me as a “promoter” of horse slaughter.
Folks, I am an observer, not a player, in this game. The Federal Meat Inspection Act (FMIA) has been around since 1906, giving USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service the authority and mandate to provide inspection and regulation of cattle, sheep, goats, swine and equines.
But USDA was then banned by Congress from using tax money for ante-mortem inspection of horses–meaning before an animal is killed– beginning in fiscal year 2006, and in 2007 the last three horse slaughter operations in the U.S. were shut down.
Roll forward to late 2011, and a House-Senate Conference Committee and President Obama came to an agreement to resume the mostly tax-funded inspections if a qualified business requests them.
Horse slaughter is a subject where – to quote former USDA Undersecretary for Food Safety Richard Raymond – “there is no middle ground, sometimes there is no common sense.”
Since the ban was lifted, Food Safety News has reported on two potential calls on FSIS resources for horse slaughter inspection. One has involved a private group currently focused on Missouri, and the other is from Roswell, NM.

The SLAB

The SLAB

At the Bellevue shelter, I went looking for a beautiful, colorful female

collie shepherd–just like my dear departed one. But my dog trainer wanted me to give another type of dog a chance. So as the big, black and white male seemed ok., this “SLAB” springer/lab, spied my husband, ran to him and sat at attention! Hello new doggie!

Cosmos had been kept in a dog run 20 hrs a day, underfed and surrendered twice. Afraid of cars, he was so scared, my husband had to carry him into our house. Now we have had the pleasure of living with the sweet, big hearted Cosmos for 14 years. He shredded and munched his way from kleenex boxes to a refrigerator shipping carton; loves car ride adventures, and walks on the beach. Now at about 16 or 17, instead of springing , Mr. Slo-mo sniffs his way along life. He loves our 2 adopted shelter cats and cheerfully chases them once in the morning and just once at night. Then they all settle down for a nap together and perhaps a licking festival. Shelter animals shelter our hearts!

As children’s brains are being eaten by vaccines, parents urged to ignore the symptoms and ‘soothe’ their babies

By Jonathan Benson, April 21 2012
(NaturalNews) A recent study published in the journal Pediatrics suggests that administering one or more of the five “Ss” — swaddling, side/stomach position, shushing, swinging, and sucking — to babies in conjunction with their childhood vaccine regimens can help alleviate the physical and emotional stress typically brought about by this highly-invasive medical tradition. Swaddling babies, or wrapping them in a warm blanket after they are vaccinated, as well as placing them in certain positions…

Culture of corruption has become common within FDA, Big Pharma

By Ethan A. Huff, April 22 2012
(NaturalNews) When pharmaceutical drugs and medical devices are approved for use in medicine by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), their safety and efficacy are typically not the primary factors considered during the decision-making process. As pointed out by the Office of Medical and Scientific Justice (OMSJ), the FDA and the drug industry are both now dominated by cultures of corruption that put profits before patient safety in almost every instance, which means that a steady stream of…
