Call your Congressmen and Senators immediately and demand that the recent budget cuts do not affect the security of America’s borders. The Federal Government wastes billions of dollars on things they should not even be involved in, but securing our country’s borders is one of the jobs that the federal government is actually supposed to do!
Obama has always pushed massive cuts in the military as part of any budget cuts he will accept in fiscal deals. Obama seems to be getting what he wants, and it will leave America’s borders vulnerable to attacks and other infiltrations.
Air Force’s Air Defense Radar Systems along U.S./Mexico Border will SHUTDOWN on March 15th, 2013
On January 17th, 2013, Exelis Systems Corporation sent out an email (see email below) to all of its employees informing them that on March 15th, 2013 all TARS Air Defense Mission Operations will permanently cease. These TARS Air Defense sites were under the control of the United States Air Force. On January 15th, 2013, the Air Force informed Exelis (the defense contractor running the TARS sites) that the TARS sites will be shut down. Exelis tried to then negotiate with the Department of Homeland Security to see if they would take over the vital project, but it seems as though those negotiations have failed. What does this mean?
This means the southern border of the United States of America will be more vulnerable to attack from low flying aircrafts, low altitude missiles, and other infiltrations such as smuggling.
Speaking on the condition of anonymity, one Exelis employee had this to say about the announced closure of the TARS sites:

Hello fellow American!
None of us will know freedom for much longer if we do not pull together (despite whatever petty differences in opinion we may have) to protect our Founding Father’s greatest work. This is how to ensure that our great Constitution and all the freedoms that are guaranteed by it survive.
I went to a “town hall” meeting recently and met our district congressman. If you are interested, I am in Oklahoma in congressional District 2 and Markwayne Mullin is our representative. While I wasn’t particularly impressed, part of his little speech really struck me. When he was finished I just thought to myself “it’s OUR fault.” Things are the way they are because not enough of us take the time to speak up. What Mr. Mullin said was that an elected official (no matter what type of office) considers correspondence from 1%, yes, just ONE PERCENT of the population in his/her district to be evidence of public opinion.
I refuse to believe that it is too late to make a difference. I know that most of us work full time and the rest of us are extremely busy otherwise, no matter the circumstance the time for excuses has lapsed.
Earlier I said “it’s OUR fault.” I will explain this now. Like I said since we are productive members of society- either employees, retirees, volunteers, mothers, home educators, entrepreneurs, veterans, elders and children, we are busy, busy, busy. We don’t have time to read a magazine article let alone WRITE a letter or an email…right? Well we have to make time, because the rest of society, the ones living off of our hard work and sacrifices, are the ones who’s voices are being heard. They have all the time in the world to MAKE themselves heard while we provide them that free time, let’s drown out their voice once and for all.
Dedicate AT LEAST 15 or 20 minutes just once a week to write your opinions on a particular issue and forward it (via post or internet) to the appropriate office. If each of us, and everyone that we know, and so on do this we could restore a “government FOR the people BY the people.” No matter what state, district, county, zone, or precinct you live in, no matter what battles you choose, just pick an issue and an office and let your beliefs be heard! Let’s be that 1%, hell, let’s make it 10 or 15% and really make a difference!
Do not send this to anyone who is for communism, gun control, amending the constitution, or more government assisted programs, these are the voices we are trying to drown out.
In freedom,
Another Rogue Citizen
I agree with most that you have said here. However, one question continues to pester me. If Congress , The Senate and state Officials have already thumbed their noses at the will of the People in many cases. Why would they care about letters being sent. Phones have been ringing, emails have been sent, protests have been organized and yet they are oblivious to the true voice of the people.
Many may not have agreed with Occupy, but their movement was just and what was their reward? Politician and lay person alike (in most cases , not all) ridiculed , mistreated and belittled them. When help comes do we get to choose the package that help should come in ? Do we get to choose their affiliations, their dress their education?
I believe the problem here is deeper than simply not enough people writing letters. First they have to care enough to get up and do something other than armchair quarterback. Second, they have to care more than just sit back and criticize those who are doing something. Third, they have to open their eyes and see the reality of things as they are not through the right/left paradigm goggles that are worn.
The Nation is divided mot by principles, not by enemies but rather by hatred and ignorance. Whether self imposed or by default through the manipulations of a government out of control. The fact of the matter is that people have become complacent and lazy. I am not referring to those who live off the system either. How do we fix that? How do we wake up a Nation that wants to stay asleep? Because once awake we would be a force to be reckoned with. Letters, well the letters I fear will mean nothing, they have had no impact thus far. SO how long do we write letters before we understand that they are ineffective? How log to we say ok lets try again , lets give them another chance? Lets see if they listen this time? The line in the sand keep getting erased and redrawn and we are losing precious ground. I think e are very close to the point where discourse will runs it’s course and action will have to take it’s place.
The important question is this……. Who will stand up for what is right and what must be done?
