The truth is that human kindness and helping those in need was always something America was known for. The huge heart and willingness to come to the aid of those in need. Now what is it they propose to make us into?
I am a big believer in in the saying ..." There but for the grace of God go I". Anyone would be grateful to accept honest and sincere help. The idea is to help while maintaining the persons dignity. Removing the help of the community does not provide or safeguard the dignity of those in need. It simply puts them at the mercy of the system. I for one have seen the way the system works and it is far from dignified.

Agreed. With so people joining the ranks of homelessness (like you said), it makes me realize that any one of us could be homeless. A good portion of the homeless people I've talked to were living "normal lives" with normal jobs and normal families before they ended up on the streets. If I were homeless, I'd want help getting back on my feet, whether the government said it was ok or not.

Thank you for visiting my blog.
Yes , indeed, it is very sad to see that is has now become illegal to extend a helping hand to those in need.
With so many joining the ranks of the homeless on a daily basis (children included) I find that it is hard to reconcile my need to help my fellow man and woman and follow the law. If I am to follow what my conscience dictates which is to feed those that are hungry then I am a criminal in the eyes of the law. Perhaps it is just me , but I find it very difficult to reconcile the fact that they are taking the only means of sustenance these people may have. Are we to allow them to starve because the government has taken it upon themselves to do this? I think not !!

This is heartbreaking! Has our nation really reached the point where we're forbidden to reach out to the homeless? Or have to jump through hoops to do it? So sad.
